The license CC BY 4.0 will be used instead of CC BY-NC 4.0, as of 2023!

30-12-2022

The Journal Editorial Board decided to use the license Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (or CC BY 4.0) International (which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, and to alter, transform, or build upon the material, including for commercial use, provided the original author is credited) instead of Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (or CC BY-NC 4.0) International (which permits use for any non-commercial purpose, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited) for the content we will publish as of 2023.

As per the new license (CC BY 4.0), people are free to:

  1. Share: copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  2. Adapt: remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

And the licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as the license terms are followed. But they must conform to the following terms:

  • Attribution: Appropriate credit must be given to the original creator, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. This can be done in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the user or his/her use.
  • No additional restrictions — The copyright holder may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

This will be made clear to the authors of 2023, and the copyright agreement will be changed (in the first week of 2023) to reflect this.
